Retention and high blood sugar levels

A study by Boston University School of Medicine recently confirmed what many gymnasts have been emphasising for years, namely that aerobic exercise alone is not enough to lose weight. It should always be accompanied by muscle strengthening.

And the reason is simple: in order for a muscle to make an effort, it needs a large amount of energy, which it draws from the adipose tissue. Therefore, weight training not only helps the muscular system (lean mass) to strengthen and become stronger, but at the same time increases the body's basic metabolism, as strengthened muscles consume more calories daily. In contrast, during aerobic exercise, the body tends to burn glucose in the blood, muscles, and liver first, and only after.
